My Morgan filly Josephine is one year old today. I never would have imagined buying a foal but I am so glad I did.

These photos were taken on Saturday when she was enjoying bouncing around in the snow. Filthy, furry, and butt-high, but man, she can MOVE.

I took my Fjord mare to another show last month. This time I just did it schooling as she had a small fit over the speaker noise last time. No fuss this time as we got there early enough to do a good warm-up and get her in a working mindset. We got to where I was spooking more at the noise than she was. I lost my filly last month to heart failure. The short version is we think she had a virus some months past that got into her heart and damaged it. There was too much damage for it to have occurred during the two weeks she was obviously unwell ( Read more... )

My filly I have broken to ride and been working on breaking to drive has reached another milestone! With the help of my driving instructor (plus one of her riding clients) we got her fully hooked up. She has been pretty unimpressed by the culmination of her training to this point. Of course after dragging tires and PVC pipes around the cart isn' ( Read more... )
